Fall 2010

We are very excited about our 4th season of monthly, half-hour magazine shows on travel with a purpose. We recently started our production year 9/11 day of service and remembrance with a segment on the First Lady, and we are preparing to participate in a reenactment of the 50th anniversary of the formation the Peace Corps.

Traveltelevision.org is a monthly TV series dedicated to the stories of volunteers. Traveling with a purpose includes stories of volunteers working to rebuild the Gulf Coast as well as nonprofits working around the globe with stories from the volunteers’ perspectives.

Traveltelevision.org is part of a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization and is produced by an all-volunteer crew. The mission of Humanity TV, the parent organization, is to help nonprofits use media to tell their stories and encourage increased volunteer participation.

Each episode includes interviews with travel authors and travel media celebrities. For example, last season included interviews with Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel and Patricia Schultz, author of 1000 Places to See Before You Die. This magazine formatted program also has travel news stories. Planned segments for the upcoming season include coverage of the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps, the international volunteer movement through stories from members of the Building Bridges Coalition, and our continued focus on the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast.

Verizon Fundraiser

If you are thinking of subscribing to Verizon internet or Fios-TV services, you can help Humanity TV and still take advantage of special new customer incentives. To order, call 888-695-5299 and tell the representative your code is 13880. For each new customer, Verizon will donate $20 to Humanity TV, which helps Traveltelevision.org.

Volunteers helping volunteers

Traveltelevision is an all-volunteer organization. Every month our volunteers donate hundreds of hours to help us record, edit and distribute our video programming to encourage others to volunteer. We are able to focus 100% of our resources on our mission through your generous participation in our fundraising and volunteer opportunities mentioned above, but we need your help to create a log of volunteer hours, which are the lifeblood of volunteer organizations like ours. Please go to our website www.TravelTelevision.org and click on the volunteer tab, register and return each time you volunteer to enter your hours for Traveltelevision. Volunteer hours are like currency for non-profits, so help our database grow.
